The Flutterbug

The Flutterbug is a '67 VW Beatle and my daily driver. This is its 5th "look". The Flutterbug has fully functional animatronic wings that can be operated by a small exterior button and illuminates magically at night.

FAQ:
  • I painted the Flutterbug with "One Shot" oil-based sign paint.
  • I did not top coat it.  I should, but I take advantage of the road wear off as a natural pre-sanding for my frequent repainting.
  • I do usually sand it all the way down to the metal for repainting.  I like to use a high grade rattle can automotive primer.
  • I drive him everyday. He is a licenced and insured daily driver.
  • And, yes, he is a he.
